On the north bank of the River IJ in Amsterdam in what has now become a creative hub you’ll find Chef’s Table. It is a fantastic restaurant in more than one respect, or – as owner Jeffrey Verwey himself puts it - it is a culinary meeting point.
And that’s certainly true.
Guests can’t say enough about the dishes that are prepared with devotion and made from carefully selected products and honest ingredients for lunch, dinner or for just a brief visit. While mulling over a productive working day you can be treated to an amuse-bouche full of surprising morsels such as smoked almonds or pata negra ham. Dining at Chef’s Table is carefree enjoyment where Chef Maarten Hogeveen puts together a weekly-changing menu for guests consisting of seven delicious courses. It’s up to you whether you choose two, three or perhaps all seven courses even.
The restaurant gets its name from the special table chefs reserve for their favourite guests. But at Chef’s Table there is no such distinction as every guest is a special guest and every table is a chef’s table. Guests are welcome at the restaurant from Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. The kitchen closes at 21:30 p.m.
